Neuropschologist & Founder

Dr. Beljan is a pediatric and adult neuropsychologist specializing in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of neuropsychological disorders. He has lectured nationally and internationally (Netherlands, Czech Republic, Belgium, Ireland, Argentina, Mexico and Canada) on topics of giftedness, ADHD, executive functioning, developmental disorders, learning disorders and neurocognitive therapy. Dr. Beljan has published research on of neurocognitive intervention and math learning disorder.

Vanessa Berens, PhD

Psychologist

Dr. Berens provides therapy for children, adolescents, adults, families and couples in individual and group sessions. She has extensive training in working with anxiety, depression, giftedness, trauma, intimate partner violence, and sleep disorders Dr. Berens also conducts psychological evaluations and personality testing.

Justin Gardner, PsyD

Post-Doctoral Fellow

Dr. Gardner is currently completing his post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology. His areas of clinical interest include the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and learning disorders. Dr. Gardner also conducts research using computational methodologies aimed at developing more effective treatments for neuropsychological disorders.

Stephen Sommers, LPC

Psychotherapist

Steve is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in therapy for adolescents and young adults, adults, families and couples. He is an innovative therapist with extensive experience working with children and families. He is skilled in meeting children and teens where they are at, not matter the area of difficulty or how layered their problems are and offers parent education and support in a non-judgmental and caring manner. Steve also works with couples and families on conflict-resolution and increasing attachment.

Registered Play Therapist

Kathleen specializes  in the treatment of young children between the ages of 3 -12 years of age. Her areas of expertise and training include early childhood trauma, crisis intervention., stress reduction (anxiety), depression, ADHD, Gifted children, neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic violence,  divorce adjustment, grief and loss, and attachment./bonding concerns.   Kathleen is formally trained in ADHD,  EMDR/EMDRIA, Advanced Sandtray, Complex Trauma, Expressive Arts, Theraplay,  EFT/TFT,  is Certified as a Child, Adolescent and Adult Trauma Professional (CCTP,CATP/IATP) and has been trained as a Grief and Loss Educator by National Grief Expert - David Kessler.  Kathleen is also a Certified Integrative Health Coach specializing  in children and adolescents, and holds certificates and/or training in Family systems therapy, Filial Therapy, domestic violence, and has completed an externship in Emotional Focused Family Couples Therapy.

Kate Haskew, CAGS, NCSP, ABSNP

Director of Academic Services

Kate is an Arizona and nationally certificated school psychologist and earned the status of Diplomate in School Neuropsychology from the American Board of School Neuropsychology. Kate’s background enables her to integrate neuropsychological principles and educational practices to assist students and their families in understanding unique learning needs and facilitating progress within the school system. In addition to being a member of the Beljan assessment team, Kate specializes in wraparound services that link evaluation data with the practical implications for academic and personal development.

Yonnas Reggiani, PsyD

Post-Doctoral Fellow

Dr. Reggiani is currently completing his two-year post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology under the supervision of Dr. Paul Beljan at Beljan Psychological Services. He recently completed his doctorate in clinical psychology from Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona. Dr. Reggiani specializes in conducting neuropsychological evaluations, IQ/gifted evaluations, ADHD evaluations, and psychotherapy for a wide range of presenting concerns.

Office Manager

Charity completed her degree in Elementary Education, and she has experience working with children as a Sunday School teacher, youth leader, special needs tutor, and a teacher's assistant. In her role as the office manager she coordinates services for the providers while keeping a watchful eye over the children's play area in the waiting room.

Speech/Language Pathologist

Lynn is the owner and executive director of Foundations Developmental House and Synergy Dyslexia Center located in Gilbert and Chandler, Arizona. Her area of specialization is with the treatment of childhood apraxia of speech, language-based learning disabilities, auditory processing disorders, ADHD and communication disorders.

Puka found her niche at our offices and is now a team leader in charge of greeting children. She has been identified as a gifted dog, especially for her food stealing abilities. Puka enjoys chasing lizards and assisting children who are anxious or unsure about being tested. She uses licks, tail wags, and adorability to help soothe any child.
